NH HealthCost will be re-launched in early 2016 with more extensive and updated health cost information and medical facility quality data. The site was developed by the New Hampshire Insurance Department to improve the price transparency of health care services in New Hampshire.
Through NH HealthCost, New Hampshire residents can compare prices of medical procedures from health care providers throughout the state such as lab tests, radiology, behavioral health visits, emergency room visits, and more. Cost information also includes dental procedures and prescription drugs. NH HealthCost will provide consumers will the ability to view nationally available quality of care information at local health care facilities. The information is derived from claims data collected from New Hampshire’s health insurers and stored as a part of the Comprehensive Health Care Information System (NHCHIS), and the data on the NH HealthCost website is updated quarterly.
For employers, the New Hampshire Insurance Department collects information from insurance carriers and publishes a report annually on the insurance marketplace. Soon you will have the opportunity to use the data interactively.
