  • About

One of the most successful independent radio stations in the United States, WXRV/92.5 the River is consistently recognized as one of the best programmed and managed operations, (R&R) Recently nominated for Radio Station of the Year. One of only two solar powered stations in the entire country!

A truly unique radio station, the River plays music our loyal listeners want to hear, and have a passion for. They will hear most of classic artists many of them grew up with, from the Beatles & Rolling Stones, to R.E.M., Bob Marley & John Hiatt. They also hear contemporary artists like Jack Johnson, Dave Matthews, Coldplay and Sheryl Crow. But the River is also known for discovering and supporting rising stars like Keane, Snow Patrol, Ed Sheerin, and Death Cab for Cutie. Our extensive music library means the River will play songs that were extremely popular, but not necessarily the Top 40 Hits or the #1's of the day. Think ''Glass Onion'' by the Beatles, instead of ''Let It Be.'' Deeper tracks from popular artists & bands is one way the River creates a passionate connection with listeners. Our music pinpoints our listeners lifestyle, resulting in the most loyal listener base on the radio.

Weekend programming is also fine-tuned to meet the desires of the River listener. Specialty programming includes ''Acoustic Café'' and ''Brunch by the River'' (a mix of R&B, Jazz and Soul) providing our avid fans a truly unique listening experience.

The River's powerful signal can be heard from south of Boston and well into New Hampshire on 92.5, 102.3 & 105.7 FM
