Lace up your sneakers and join the American Heart Association as they kick off Move More Month in April with Move More Day on Wednesday, April 4.

The event begins at noon at City Hall Plaza in Manchester with some brief remarks, followed by a one-mile walk around downtown. It is free, family friendly, and open to the public. There may also be some special guests! For more information, visit the American Heart Association – New Hampshire’s Facebook event page

Walking is one of the simplest ways to get active and stay active. Research has shown that walking can have a significant impact on your health by lowering your chances of heart disease, lowering blood pressure, increasing energy levels and preventing weight gain. The American Heart Association recommends 150 minutes of activity per week.
This is also the perfect time of year to get ready for the New Hampshire Heart Walk on June 2 at the Derryfield Park. Get a team together and get walking!

The Heart Walk falls under the Association’s Healthy For Good movement, designed to inspire you to create lasting change in your health and your life, one small step at a time. The approach is simple: Eat smart. Add color. Move more. Be well. For more information, visit the
Healthy For Good website.
