LOCAL NONPROFIT COMPLETES MORE THAN 60 WATER PROJECT IN AFRICA

JUNE 7, 2017 – Concord, NH

The Water Project, a local nonprofit who provides water and sanitation systems in Africa has completed more than 60 new water projects in Uganda, Sierra Leone and Kenya so far in 2017. Project types include new and rehabbed wells, sand dams, spring protections and rainwater catchment systems. On average, these projects will provide clean, safe water to about 21,000 people, about the population of Portsmouth.

The Water Project hopes to complete more than 200 projects this year and continues to provide water to more than 300,000 people every day in Kenya, Sierra Leone and Uganda. They do this through training, equipping and working alongside local teams who build, restore and monitor water points. “Access to safe water is foundational to the development of any community,” says President and Founder Peter Chasse, “When you remove the obstacle of unsafe water, communities have the opportunity to flourish and thrive.”
