Members First Credit Union Donates $7,500 to Manchester Police Athletic League
Footrace for the Fallen 5k sponsorship helps support important programs for city’s youth

MANCHESTER, NH (October 9, 2019) – Members First Credit Union recently donated $7,500 to the Manchester Police Athletic League (MPAL) through its sponsorship of the 13th Annual Footrace for the Fallen 5k on October 6th, honoring the memory and sacrifice of our community’s fallen police officers.

“Year after year I’ve watched how this race and the excitement around it has grown,” said Bruce Leighton, Members First Credit Union president and CEO. “We’ve been proud to sponsor the event since its inception 13 years ago. It’s an excellent opportunity for people to come together, raise money for a great organization, and honor the officers who lost their lives while bravely serving our community.”

Proceeds for the Footrace for the Fallen 5k event benefited MPAL, a nonprofit organization that provides after school and summer athletic, educational and enrichment programs for youth living in Greater Manchester, while connecting them with police officers who serve as positive role models.

"We had another great race this year with just over 900 registrants,” said Ariel Kapteyn, MPAL director of marketing. “We greatly appreciate Members First Credit Union's continued support of Manchester's youth and police officers."
