Bedford, N.H. (June 12, 2018) – Manchester Country Club (MCC) in Bedford, N.H. recently delivered a check for more than $11,000 to the Manchester Police Athletic League (MPAL) on Beech Street in Manchester, N.H. Supported by the Manchester Police Department, MPAL brings cops and center city kids together through athletic, academic and recreational programs (which are 100 percent free to kids).

Members of the 95-year-old private golf club raised the funds in one day during their annual Memorial Charity Tournament, a day of remembrance for the membership, honoring the lives of MCC members, and their family members, who have passed away. Hosted in May and in its fourth official year, the tournament has been the catalyst for more than $40,000 donated to community organizations including Easterseals Farnum Center, BeBold of Bedford, and the McKeryn Bridge Foundation.

"There’s so much community activity at Manchester Country Club," said MCC General Manager, Brian Kelley. “This golf tournament is just one small gesture that our staff and members are very proud of. This clubhouse is also home to many charity events and galas that raise considerable amounts of money for wonderful organizations in our community, including the Boys and Girls Club, The Make-A-Wish Foundation, NH Food Bank, Child Advocacy Center, and the list goes on. We are honored to be able to play host to these amazing events and the people that run them.”
