An Opportunity to Fight Homelessness in New Hampshire

MANCHESTER, NH – Families in Transition-New Horizons’ OutFITters Thrift Stores in Concord and Manchester, NH, are in need of items to fill their sales floors. All proceeds from OutFITters Thrift Stores support Families in Transition-New Horizons, a nonprofit that provides hunger relief, emergency shelter, housing, and social services to those in need. By donating items or organizing a collections drive, individuals and businesses can help fund programming and services that support homeless and food insecure families and individuals.

“Our stores rely on donations from the community to run,” said OutFITters Retail Manager, Kim Rennell. “As we’ve updated the layouts in both of our stores, we are able to put more items out on the sales floor every day, but this leaves us in high need of more donations. We want businesses and individuals to know that their donations are going to support a great cause and those most in need right here in New Hampshire.”

OutFITters Thrift Stores are in need of the following types of donations: dishes, electronics, shoes, jewelry, pots, and pans. Items can be dropped off Monday through Saturday at 394 Second Street, Manchester, NH, 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and/or at 20 S. Main Street, Concord, NH, 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Large furniture items can be scheduled for pick-up, in certain towns, by calling 603-941-6691. Both stores accept donations of new and gently used clothing, books, coats and jackets, towels, and linens, as well.

In addition to dropping off donations at the stores, businesses, community groups, or individuals can organize a collections drive in order to gather donations. OutFITters staff will drop off and pick up a bin to be filled with donations. Bins can be reserved for two-week periods by calling our Resource Development department at 603-641-9441 ext. 324.

OutFITters Thrift Stores are owned and operated by Families in Transition-New Horizons, a nonprofit organization that provides hunger relief, emergency shelter, safe affordable housing, and supportive services to individuals and families who are homeless or in need, enabling them to gain self-sufficiency and respect.
