Few things are less fun than the Internal Revenue Code. However, IRC section 199A is a huge exception. The section became effective on January 1, 2018. It provides sole proprietors, S corporation shareholders and LLC members with a new federal income tax deduction of up to 20% on their business income. It will benefit at least 70,000 New Hampshire small businesses, including thousands in greater Manchester. John Cunningham, an LLC lawyer of counsel to the McLane law firm, has just published a book on Section 199A. He will give a presentation on it on May 22, 2018 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM.

Section 199A is one of the lengthiest, most complex and most difficult IRC provisions to understand and apply, and you may have to restructure your business to maximize the deduction it provides.
