It's no secret that Manchester is experiencing growth, with much more on the horizon! To ensure sustainable, inclusive and resilient progress, our city needs to be prepared. In collaboration with Mayor Ruais, the Greater Manchester Chamber is hosting a new forum, Future-Focus Manchester. These sessions are aimed to shed light on the critical preparedness steps Manchester is taking, and needs to pursue, to be able to accommodate the anticipated growth. Each forum will focus on a specific topic related to urban development, including zoning, housing, education, childcare, first responders, homelessness, transportation and infrastructure. This focused approach will allow the opportunity to review the related planning and mobilization in more depth and hear insight from the business community.
In the second Future-Focus Manchester, taking place on December 4th from 7:30-9am at the Rex Theatre, the topic will be safety and crime. Please join us for part-presentation, part-conversation at this gathering where the audience will have the opportunity to ask direct questions.
With current Police Chief Allen Aldenberg’s retirement on November 29th, Mayor Ruais has nominated Assistant Chief Peter Marr as his successor. Marr has been with the department since 2003, earning Captain in 2023, as well as his master’s degree in criminal justice and law enforcement administration in 2022. The Future-Focus Manchester forum is a great opportunity to meet Manchester’s new police chief and hear the latest data on public safety and crime.
All Chamber members are welcome to attend at no cost, but registration is required.
