Please join the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce Green Buildings Subcommittee for the next in our series of Green Building Tours.
On the morning of March 10, 2009 at 8:30, we will meet at the newly renovated offices of Sullivan Construction, located at 258 South River Road, Bedford, NH, to view the work that has been performed in their efforts to pursue the coveted LEED Platinum Certification for Commercial Interiors.
An overview of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) will be given. LEED Certification is obtained by designing a building that is environmentally responsible. This can be done in a variety of ways. The Sullivan Project is pursuing certification by implementing a number of initiatives including:
· Creating a sustainable site
· Conserving energy and improving the atmosphere
· Reusing and recycling materials and resources
· Improving indoor environmental quality
· Showing innovation in the design process
· Choosing materials that fit in with the mission
A commitment to the environment by the entire design, engineering and building teams will create a building that is a healthier and more productive place to work, will be less costly to operate and will reduce the environmental footprint.
We hope that you will join us for this and other events.
