On Saturday, May 15, 2010, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation – Northern New England Branch will host its 9^th Annual Granite Gala at The Event Center at C.R. Sparks in Bedford, NH.  The proceeds from this event will fund research to find a cure for diabetes and its complications.  Our members are concerned relatives and friends of people with diabetes who have joined together with a commitment of time and resources to help realize the dream for a cure.  JDRF gives more money directly to diabetes research than any other non-governmental health agency in the world.

The evening’s black tie event will include:

·        Elegant cocktail reception and dinner party

·        Premier live auction with professional auctioneer

·        Superb silent auction featuring distinctive items

·        The JDRF Fund A Cure, a unique opportunity to fund a JDRF research grant

·        Great live entertainment

 

Dedicated to Finding a Cure

Every hour, juvenile diabetes strikes somebody.  There is currently no cure.  Children become insulin dependent for life and live everyday with the constant threat of devastating complications.      

With over 40 years of passionate activism and 1.4 billion raised in support of research, we are at a critical juncture.  A cure is on the horizon, but between here and there lies the costliest, most demanding phase of our journey – the move to human clinical trials.  JDRF remains focused, energized, creative and efficient.  More than 85 percent of JDRF’s expenditures directly support research and research-related education.

The JDRF Northern New England Branch was founded in 1990 and over time, the Granite Gala has become a focal point of the Branch’s fundraising efforts, raising close to $1 million.
