As the COVID-19 situation continues to impact each and every one of us in different ways, I am reminded of some of the personal resilience lessons I took away from my career as a military officer, from my transition from military service, and now as a Leadership and Performance Coach. When we focus on what we can control or influence, it limits the amount of catastrophizing that happens and, by extension, reduces our fear response and enables us to be more adaptive. objective, and responsive to our environment rather than emotional and reactive.
