In May the City of Manchester became the first municipality in New Hampshire to adopt the International Existing Building Codes (IEBC). This new “smart code” will provide developers and property owners with new tools and incentives to rehabilitate and enhance historic and underutilized buildings in Manchester.
Join local developers, site selectors, real estate professionals, property owners, and Chamber members for the “GMCC Building Codes Workshop” to learn more about Manchester’s new “smart codes” and the exciting economic opportunities they bring to the City. The program will include:
Welcoming Remarks – Manchester Mayor Ted Gatsas
Overview of IEBC – Leon LaFreniere, Director – Manchester Planning and Community Development Department
Smarts Codes & Economic Development – Jay Minkarah, Director – Manchester Economic Development Office
Following the program and Q&A with the audience, a walking tour of vacant downtown office and retail space will be provided to demonstrate firsthand the impact of IEBC on underutilized space. Join us for this interesting and unique program. There is no cost to attend but reservations are required.
