Name: Negotiating When There are No Winners
Date: September 9, 2015
Time: 8:30 AM - 12:00 PM EDT
Event Description:

The word “negotiation” conjures up images of high-pressure situations where people have a lot to lose if they can’t get things done.

Many times, people think of negotiations when it comes to buying but there are many more moments in your work when you are forced to negotiate. Many managers have to negotiate for resources or for tasks and priorities. You might even already be saying “yes” or “no” to many different requests.

Because of this, you are a negotiator. Even if you don’t think of yourself as one, you are! How well do you actually negotiate though? Do you know how to recognize situations where negotiating is appropriate? Do you understand the elements of an effective negotiation? Are you able to get what you need when you need it?

During this workshop we will explain the fundamentals of negotiating and how to do it successfully, so that you can meet your needs without causing conflict when you do have to say “no”.

We’ll take the nerves out of negotiating so you can feel more empowered next time you need to get things done.
