At the event, two companies present their business challenge to a panel of industry experts and receive board-level and executive advice on how best to address their challenge, all in front of a live audience. The opportunity is open to established businesses, as well as startups and companies run by students.
Each company receives 15 minutes to present its business plan and receive feedback from the panel of experts and the audience. The panel acts as venture advisors for an evening and provides potential solutions to challenges faced by entrepreneurial companies based on their own professional experiences and expertise.
Between the two presentations a “Sky Dive” is held (think elevator pitch), during which an early-stage company or nonprofit will look for feedback on a specific challenge or opportunity its company is facing.
Presenters are matched with a member of the Council’s Entrepreneur Forum committee for help preparing their presentations, mentorship and a public speaking “boot camp” prior to the event. Presenters also typically receive significant media exposure in the promotion leading up to and during the event.
