Avoiding and Handling Harassment Claims - Encouraging Civility In Your Workplace in a Post #metoo World

In 2016,  a task force appointed by the EEOC completed its review of the status of harassment in the workplace, noting that despite efforts to address the issue over some thirty years, harassment continues to be a persistent and ongoing problem.  One of the most striking conclusions of the report was the extent to which harassing behavior has gone unreported. Then in 2017 the Harvey Weinstein scandal broke uncovering years of ongoing harassment and abuse in the highest echelons of Hollywood, media, politics, and corporate America, launching the #metoo movement.  What have we learned in the past three years about preventing, investigating and remediating discrimination, harassment and bullying in our businesses?  This interactive presentation will focus on  recognizing and addressing the precursors to harassment, workplace incivility and bullying.  We will discuss how to conduct effective training which encourages and supports the reporting of inappropriate behavior.
