A museum professional for 30 years, Susan Strickler was appointed Director of the Currier Museum of Art in 1996. She has led the Currier through two strategic plans, one of which led to a $21.4 million expansion that was supported by a successful $13.4 million capital campaign. Educated at Mount Holyoke College and the University of Delaware, she has published in a range of topics in American art. She held curatorial posts at the Worcester Art Museum, Toledo Museum of Art, and Virginian Museum of Fine Arts.  She has served on a variety of professional and community boards.
