Operation: Thank You! Overview
On August 15th we will be holding our 7th annual Operation: Thank You! The event will be held at Merchantauto.com Stadium, home of the NH Fisher Cats, from 11:00am to 4:00 pm. Operation: Thank You! benefits the Chaplain Emergency Relief Fund (CERF) in their effort to provide quick financial help for military members and their families during times of financial hardship and unforeseeable events. CERF has given over $170,000 since 2001 and with our help, that number can continue to grow, benefiting our service members throughout the state.
How did it start?
- The Meat House recognized a need to assist the Chaplain’s Emergency Relief Fund in their effort to help military families in the event of a crisis or financial hardship.
When did it start?
- Started in the summer of 2004 by The Meat House and Redhook Ale Brewery.
Why did it start?
- To honor the contributions and sacrifices of our military personnel and families.
How has it grown over the years?
- The event has quickly grown since its inception into one of the most successful and anticipated military appreciation events in New England bringing together several local businesses for this great cause! Over 3,500 people attended last year’s event alone!
What does the day entail?
- A day long festival hosted by Greg Kretschmar of WHEB/WGIR's Greg and The Morning Buzz, including:
o Kids Corner featuring Radio Disney with games and prizes
o Raffle items from area businesses
o Live music
o A Communications Center where attendees can record audio/video greetings for loved ones in Iraq and Afghanistan
o The Meat House marinated steak tips, pulled pork, chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs and potato and pasta salads and more!
