Position Summary
Wilcox & Barton, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Controller to oversee all financial operations, accounting, healthcare, and employee benefits. The Controller will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements, and supporting business growth through effective financial planning and analysis.
Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Management: Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and provide insights to senior management.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop and manage budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analyses to support strategic decision-making.
  • Compliance & Internal Controls: Ensure adherence to GAAP, tax regulations, and other financial compliance standards while implementing internal controls.
  • Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage company cash flow, accounts receivable, and accounts payable to optimize financial health.
  • Audit & Tax Preparation: Coordinate with external auditors and tax preparers to ensure timely and accurate filings.
  • Health Care & Employee Benefits: Oversee employee benefits programs, including health care, retirement plans, and other compensation-related functions.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for financial process improvements and implement best practices to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • ERP & Accounting Systems: Maintain and optimize financial systems, including accounting software and reporting tools.
  • Time Reporting & Invoicing: Manage time reporting, data entry, and preparation of client invoices.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in accounting or financial management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Deltek and Microsoft Excel).
  • Experience managing employee benefits, payroll, and HR-related financial responsibilities.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities with experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
